Wine lovers are invited to enjoy a collection of winemaker Bradley Brown’s highly acclaimed wines along with gourmet pâtés from Fabriques Delices, one of the Bay Area’s leading purveyors of French delicacies. These superb products complement Big Basin’s handcrafted mountain-grown Pinot and Syrah offerings.
Taste a special vertical of exceptional Fairview Syrahs
To celebrate the end of harvest 2010, winemaker Brown showcases vintages 2006 thru 2008 of his powerful Syrahs from the Fairview Road Ranch vineyard in the Santa Lucia Highlands. Cool winds from the Monterey Bay combine with the area’s long and sometimes dry growing season to create wines of character and intensity.
All three vintages of Fairview Road Ranch Syrah display an aroma of white pepper and intense spice, wine meant to be savored with the full-bodied fare of autumn.
The three-wine vertical tasting flight of Fairview Syrah is available at the cost of $5. Wines by the glass are $11.50 and retail for $39 per bottle. A three-bottle set is 10% off the retail price, while supplies last.
Gourmet pâtés pair with Big Basin wines
Two enticing varieties are available for $9.95 per jar and may be enjoyed with wines by the glass or bottle. Velvety smooth duck rillettes pâté pairs perfectly with Pinot, while the spicier country style (pâté de compagne) is outstanding with Syrah.

About Big Basin Vineyards
Big Basin Vineyards is named for California’s Big Basin Redwoods State Park, located one mile from the winery. This is the only vineyard in the Santa Cruz Mountains that is planted exclusively to Rhone varietals, including Syrah, Grenache and Roussanne. With the 2006 harvest, proprietor and winemaker Bradley Brown began producing single vineyard Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noirs, again, to critical acclaim.
Wine critics recognizing the winery and the wines include Wine & Spirits, naming Big Basin one of the top 100 wineries in 2008, Robert Parker Jr., who noted the "impressive Syrahs," and Wine Spectator Magazine, acclaiming Big Basin as one of ten "Promising new producers" of Syrah in California..
